excuse me while I explode
22 October 2011
I finally made it to the grocery store this week which means I finally have things to eat besides Lean Cuisine. The only bad part about having different food to choose from is having to decide what to eat. A friend who I haven’t seen in a while came over for dinner tonight so I gave her the honor of choosing what recipe we would make. I’d say she made a good call:
Honey Lemon Chicken paired with stir fry veg, spring rolls, and rice. Umm, seconds please?
But no, we didn’t just stop there. Dessert, duh. Since its fall (even though it doesn’t feel like it), I have been craving bonfire s’mores. Unfortunately, 1) I don’t live in the country and 2) there’s a burn ban in nearly all of Texas, so other arrangements had to be made: fondue s’mores!
S’mores in the city:
- Melt about 1 cup of milk chocolate chips in a fondue pot (I’m sure you could do this on the stove top too)
- Pop marshmallow in the microwave for 4-5 seconds to soften (I would’ve toasted them over the stove top if I had a gas range)
- Dip the mallow in the chocolate & sandwich between two grahams
Not quite the same recipe as in The Sandlot, but just as delicious I assure you. “Kind of messy but good. Try some!”
